WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

For the crust:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup cold milk
1 egg for egg wash
2 tbsp. raw sugar (white sugar also works)

For the Filling:
6c. apples, peeled, cored, sliced
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Pinch of salt
Confectioners sugar for dusting

For the Streusel:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, finely chopped
6 tbsp. butter, softened

HOW YOU'LL MAKE IT:

To make the Crust:
Using a mixer, blend flour and salt. Add oil until slightly mixed. Add milk until blended. Don’t
over mix. Place dough on large piece of parchment paper. Flatten into round disc. Cover with
wax paper. Roll into 14 inch round.

To make the Filling:
In a large bowl, mix apples, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt until apples are
evenly coated.

To make the Streusel:
Using a fork, mix flour, brown sugar, nuts and butter until crumbly.

How to make the Galette:
Remove wax paper from pie dough, leaving dough on parchment paper. Mound the apple
filling in the center of rolled out dough, leaving a 2 - 3 inch edge. Sprinkle streusel over the
filling. Fold the dough around the filling. Brush dough with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 400° for 40 - 50 minutes or until filling bubbles in the center. Cover with foil for last
15 minutes if top browns too fast.

When completely cooled, dust with confectioners sugar. Serve with vanilla ice cream. ENJOY!

Variation: Replace apples with peaches or any of your favorite fruit pie filling.
