Natasha Perrone has practiced reiki and reflexology in the Northampton and Easthampton area for over 15 years. Recognizing the need for a relaxing space for people to rejuvenate, Perrone opened Sisu Wellness Center in Easthampton in June 2023 and found the need for wellness and healing is growing.

“It was inspired by a need for a comprehensive, holistic center where experts in their fields could come together under one roof while maintaining their own businesses,” Perrone said of Sisu Wellness. “We also recognized the need for a relaxing space where the community could gather for healing groups, classes and workshops, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Perrone’s passion for wellness also includes her own products.

“I am the creator of several lines of all-natural handmade products for skin, hair, and nails, as well as home products such as organic crystal candles and aromatherapy rollers. I have a great team of core practitioners, as well as lab, office and store assistants that help keep us running and growing,” Perrone said.

Taking a holistic approach, Perrone established Sisu Wellness with multiple services.

“We offer mental health services provided by therapists, as well as a wide array of healing arts such as massage, reiki, reflexology, craniosacral, shiatsu, quantum acupressure, and metaphysical offerings such as psychic medium and tarot readings,” said Perrone. “We have a fantastic yoga instructor who offers many healing and also fun classes. All of our practitioners are experts in their fields, and we have many unique massage offerings such as Tibetan massage, Thai table and floor massage, clinical massage, craniosacral massage, shiatsu, trigger point therapy and more.”

Sisu Wellness Boutique has a wide range of all-natural wellness products, too, including healing crystals, crystal jewelry, organic candles and more.

“Anything we don’t make right here in our lab in Easthampton, we buy from companies that give back and are ethically sourced,” noted Perrone. “In our Zen Den, we offer sound healing, crafting classes, certification classes in different modalities, healing classes, as well as yoga and body classes for everybody.”

Perrone said the primary goal for each client is their healing and well-being. Perrone and the Sisu staff work carefully with individuals so that services are tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and lifestyle.

Sisu Wellness has a variety of offerings and a variety of clients.

“Our clientele ranges from teens to the elderly,” Perrone said. “We have people of all genders and identities. Some of our mental health practitioners accept insurance, and some clients can use their FSAs and HSAs to cover services. We also strive to be affordable for everyone and offer great rates to our clientele.”

Perrone said wellness is more important than ever in today’s society.

“Engaging in self-care activities to replenish your energy, well-being, and emotional reserves is vital to your well-being. These activities can vary from person to person, but often involve getting enough sleep, eating nourishing meals, exercising, bodywork, spending time in nature, and pursuing hobbies and interests,” Perrone stated.

People often think of food as fueling their bodies, but there is much more to it than eating well.

“Just as a car needs fuel, your body and mind need resources, activities and rest to function optimally. When your ‘tank’ is empty, you’ll likely feel exhausted, stressed and less able to cope with everyday challenges,” said Perrone. “Self-care helps to prevent burnout and maintain your overall well-being. Making time for self-care can improve your productivity and ability to tackle tasks effectively. Self-care is not selfish; it’s essential for your health and well-being, allowing you to better care for yourself and others.”

Clients at Sisu Wellness are welcomed as soon as they walk through the door with décor and an atmosphere that promotes their wellness.

“Our atmosphere is one of relaxation, calm, safety and comfort. We welcome everyone to Sisu, and people often ask if they can sleep here,” said Perrone. “When decorating the center, I focused on creating a space where people feel like they have walked into another world. Where the stress they carried around would melt off of them, and their mental chatter would stop. Today’s world can be so hectic, and having a space to find peace and balance, even for just an hour, is much needed.”

Anyone interested in learning more is encouraged to visit the Sisu website and center, located at 40 Maine Ave., Easthampton.

“We invite everyone interested in learning more about us to stop by and explore our comprehensive website,” said Perrone. “We love visitors and enjoy meeting and speaking with them. Part of Sisu’s goal is to introduce people to a wide variety of healing modalities and products that can help them heal, deal with life, and get healthier. As a former high school educator, I’m passionate about sharing the many resources available to help people navigate life.”

Sisu Wellness Center is open Tuesday-Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individual practitioner hours vary.
